About the role
As an AI Automation Engineer, you will design and deliver intelligent automation solutions that reduce manual work and accelerate operations across IT and business functions. You will work at the intersection of Python engineering, browser automation, APIs, RPA, and emerging agentic AI technologies. The role combines maintaining business-critical automations with building new AI-native workflows that expand what automation can achieve. You will collaborate closely with technical and business stakeholders to identify high-value opportunities and turn them into reliable production solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy automation solutions across browser-based workflows, API integrations, AI-augmented pipelines, and other automation use cases that measurably reduce manual effort across IT and business operations
- Maintain and support existing RPA solutions by diagnosing failures, adapting automations to changes in dependent systems, and ensuring deployed workflows remain reliable
- Translate business processes and requirements into maintainable automation solutions with clear architecture, error handling, logging, recovery mechanisms, documentation, version control, and change management practices
- Prototype and productionize agentic workflows using frameworks such as LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar, incorporating LLM capabilities where they outperform traditional rule-based automation
- Integrate automation workflows with enterprise AI platforms and LLM services through APIs to enable context-aware, intelligent handling of complex or unstructured tasks
- Evaluate existing automation approaches and contribute to decisions about where traditional RPA should be enhanced or replaced with AI-native and agentic technologies
- Partner with IT and business stakeholders to discover, assess, and prioritize automation opportunities based on process analysis, effort, and expected business value
- Instrument deployed automations with telemetry and performance metrics covering execution volumes, errors, reliability, and time saved
- Contribute to shared standards for automation architecture, code quality, governance, deployment, and support
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional experience building automation solutions, including scripted workflows, RPA implementations, API integrations, or comparable solutions deployed to production
- Hands-on experience with at least one RPA platform such as Automation Anywhere, Microsoft Power Automate, UiPath, or equivalent, including maintaining live automations and troubleshooting production failures
- Strong proficiency in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript for automation engineering, with readable, maintainable, well-structured code
- Practical experience with REST APIs, including authentication, rate limiting, error handling, and multi-step API workflow orchestration
- Comfortable analyzing and decomposing business processes to determine automation opportunities before development begins
- Experience with Playwright or similar browser automation technologies preferred
- Experience experimenting with or developing agentic automation using LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar frameworks highly valued
- Familiarity with integrating LLM APIs from OpenAI, Anthropic, or comparable platforms, particularly for unstructured data processing and intelligent decision-making
- Exposure to CI/CD practices for automation deployment, including version control, automated testing, and structured change management preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with curiosity to explore emerging AI technologies
